Credit Manager

Position Summary: The Credit Manager reports to the Controller with a dotted line to the President and oversees a $30-$45 million credit portfolio serving North American infrastructure projects (Oil & Gas, Electrical Transmission & Distribution, Alternative Energy, Heavy Civil, Power Plants, Server Farms, etc.). This role manages daily credit operations, including collections, credit application processing, lien tracking, and annual credit updates. It requires expertise in financial statement analysis, A/R reporting, and compliance with corporate credit policies, as well as experience in construction job accounting and lien laws across U.S. jurisdictions.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily credit operations, including reviewing and releasing orders, managing collections, and communicating with customers to ensure timely payments. Collaborate with sales to resolve creditworthiness issues, attend trader meetings, and track and log preliminary lien notices and critical filing deadlines.
- Process credit applications using Bectran, order D&B and Experian reports, and assess creditworthiness for new customers.
- Conduct annual credit updates by gathering financial data, ordering reports, and maintaining accurate records for existing customers.
- Assist with occasional payment postings and ensure accurate financial records within accounts receivable.
- Maintain knowledge of lien laws, track critical deadlines, and ensure compliance with corporate credit policies.
- Establish and maintain credit insurance coverage, process claims, and mitigate financial risks.
- Handle account maintenance, respond to customer inquiries, post accounting adjustments, and manage invoice and statement requests.
Education & Experience:
- In-office position requiring on-site work.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree from a college or technical school preferred.
- Credit Business Associate (CBA) designation with NACM is a plus.
- Experience in construction job accounting and familiarity with construction lien laws.
